Lichtstrahl 146 - The earth swallowed the stream of water which the dragon spewed from his mouth

THE EARTH SWALLOWED THE STREAM OF WATER WHICH THE DRAGON SPEWED FROM HIS MOUTH
 
Dear friends!
 
Last week we focused on the wedding garment that is lying there for every one that decides to join the kingly wedding festival.  A wedding between the earth and the heavens, the sense realm and the supersensible, the soul and the spirit.   This wedding is going to take place – no matter what -  and everyone will be invited, nobody is not welcome.  BUT the wedding garment, which is supplied to every guest, needs to be put on – that is the only strict condition!  What an opportunity.
 
Today we hear another very encouraging truth:  that in the ongoing fight and threats of the dragon it is the  earth itself, that is saving us.  The picture of the dragon persuing the fleeing woman with great fury and anger,  spewing out water to wash her away and then storming off to destroy all her offspring as well. These pictures of destruction and danger  seem to come to life strongly at the moment, and how uncanningly do they reveal the power of the forces that are endangering our existence.  But  then in the gospel reading there is this very short sentence about the EARTH saving us.
 
The importance of agriculture, where human beings work with the earth,  becomes more and more apparent allover the planet.  The farmers, and especially the organic or even the bio-dynamic farmers are more and more often invited to join and advise all kinds of conferences and workshops. Conferences which  focus on securing a sustainable und healthy future of nature and humanity all over the world.  The way we treat our earth, the plantlife on it as well as all animal life on it suddenly becomes a very strong point of interest globally. 
 
One reason for that is purely common sense, because we have reached a critical point. We now, more than ever, need to save and become conscious of our base of life – the earth.  But there is more to it.  We have to develop a deep gratitude, a deep awareness of the  earth as a living being, a mother to humanity, a ground of existence that is filled with incredible strength and mysteries.  One of these mysteries is that the earth is able to save us from disaster.
 
Then it is not anymore only the task of the farmers or the gardeners to supply healthy food for us, but everyones task to nurture and care about our mother earth and all the realms of life connected to that.  May that awareness grow and become very meaningful in the future times to come:  it is the earth itself, that is able to save us from being swiped away by the forces that are attacking humanity as such.
