Lichtstrahl 82 - BE NOT RIGID IN YOUR HEART

​LICHTSTRAHL 82             GOSPEL:  John 20 (19-29)                      2nd Easter Sunday, 24.4.22
 
BE NOT RIGID IN YOUR HEART; BUT RATHER FEEL MY POWER IN YOUR HEART.
 
Dear friends!
 
It is autumn.  The veld in our country stands in full blossom.  There are millions and millions of seeds on the motherplants.   Most of the seeds have been produced by now and are waiting to be dropped from the blossoms, be spread by the wind, fall into the dark earth, say goodbye to the sunlight, and the starry nights.  There they will wait for the winter to come, for the cold to creep into the soil, wait for the light to get less and less, whilst  their motherplants will whither, get drie and brittle from frosty nights.
 
Quite a sad picture to be scetched, once autumn comes and the summer is finally past.  Sad, but true. 
 
We celebrated a very intense and strong Easter Sunday just a week ago.  The light of the sun was strong and warm, the hearts were full, and the joy was clearly there after four weeks of Passion Time.  Jubilating in delight surely was the air around the earth.  Resurrection had taken hold of human hearts and the whole of creation.  The power of this resurrection is also  connected to every single seed of the millions, that will from now on drop into the earth.  It   will wait for a long time to  become visible again, but it surely is there – hidden from our physical eyes. 
 
No one would ever doubt that!
     especially here in Namibia, where the natural endurance and lifepower of seeds is so remarkable. 
 
With Easter a seed has also entered into our souls.  A seed of resurrection, of overcoming of conquering death forces.  Sometimes these seeds do lie very long without moving, they stay in the cold of our soul isolation, they stay in the darkness of our fears.  But the day will come, when they will unfold again and will show their potential, strength and a beautiful blossom. 
 
Nearly everyone would surely doubt that!
     whose soullife has entered into autumn and is approaching a time of soul-winter.
 
Let us become Thomasses, let us put our fingers into the wounds, let us find ways to overcome the doubt in the strength of the resurrection power in our hearts being just as strong as in nature. Let us admit, that we all are modern “Thomasses”, who need to hear again and again the Words of the Lord:  “Be not rigid in your heart, but rather feel my power in your heart.”
