In the temple in Jerusalem there was a curtain in front of the Sanctuary.
That curtain tore, in the hour Jesus Christ was crucified on mount Golgatha.
The Sanctuary was torn open and that created an enormous shock and fear amongst the Jews on that day.

Their belief had always been, that in the Sanctuary God himself was living and that no one was allowed to see him, because that would bring immediate death to that person. It was also believed, that in the Sanctuary the stones with the 10 commandments, which Moses brought down from Mount Sinai, were kept in the Ark of the Covenant. So no human being was allowed to enter that space. There was however one exception: the High Priest once a year on a very high festive day was called to enter into the Sanctuary to worship.

During the Act of Consecration we are reminded of and connected to the great awe and reverence, that prevailed at that threshold, which then tore open on the day of the crucifixion. We are made aware of that threshold, when the altar is censed on all sides after the offering. It is as if high invisible angelic beings are called in to create a veil of protection and shelter around the altar to make the next step possible. It awakens the holy moment, when the High Priest in the temple of Jerusalem entered into its Sanctuary and had an encounter with the countenance of God himself.

It is a very crucial moment which asks for our raised awareness. Therefore it is called the SILENT sensing – nothing should distract our attention of what is happening invisibly to our observation at that moment.

Liebe Gemeinde!
 
Wie wollen wir diesen 100. Geburtstag begehen und mit welchen Intentionen wollen wir in das zweite Jahrhundert dieser Bewegung für religiose Erneuerung starten? 
 
Die Räume sind weltweit erstellt, wunderbare eindrucksvolle Räume in vielen Ländern dieser Erde.  In über 25 Sprachen sind die sieben Sakramente übersetzt worden und werden dort gefeiert.  Vielen Menschen sind sie eine Lebenshilfe geworden.
 
Sollten wir jetzt nicht diese wunderbaren Räume, wie auch den unserer Stephanuskirche,  anfangen zu füllen?  Jeder mit seinen Fähigkeiten?  Das wäre doch ein Bild, das angemessen ist:  In den nächsten hundert Jahren sollen Menschen mit ihrem Denken, ihrem Herzen und ihren Taten diese erbauten Räume weltweit füllen. 
 
Und so wollen wir in diesem Sinne das 100. Geburtstagsfest der Christengemeinschaft in Windhoek begehen.  DAS (und nicht mehr und nicht weniger)  wird sich am Anfang des 2. Jahrhunderts ereignen, was Menschen hereinbringen, mitbringen, sich wünschen.  So wird sich der Raum an diesem Wochenende füllen können und das grosse Geschenk der geistigen Welt an uns langsam eine würdige Antwort finden können.
 
Von meiner Seite wird es eine Menschenweihehandlung am Freitag, den 16.9.22 um 10h00 geben.  Im Anschluss eine Sonntagshandlung für die Kinder.  Am Freitag abend einen öffentlichen Vortrag in der Kirche.  In welcher Sprache, das werde ich noch entscheiden.
 
Alles weitere darf ganz frei von der Gemeinde gestaltet werden.  Wir treffen uns am Sonntag, den 14.8.22 um 11h15, um ein Programm und eine Einladung zu entwerfen.  Wie gesagt, was stattfinden wird, keimt in dem Menschenwollen unserer Gemeinde….

​Zwei ausgesonderte Zeiten im Jahr gehören zu dem grössten und kostbarsten Gut der Menschheit: Die zwölf Heiligen Nächte zur Jahreswende und die Karwoche zur Osterzeit. Wir wollen diese Zeit anhand der täglichen Gedichte, die zu den Ereignissen dieser Woche eine Beziehung haben, vertiefen - um die Karwoche in einem gemeinsam gebildeten Bewusstsein zu durchleben.

This is a photo from our Christmas conference about the zodiac (constellations from the zodiac) and “Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper” (probably his most famous painting). It was a very enriching time for every participant. The large painting belongs to Silvia Gorr, a well-known painter from Stuttgart who painted with us. She had brought it to the conference and has now made this picture available to us for a year so that we can continue to look at it and work on it. That's a great gift. We will put it up in our church room…………and keep working on it.
